pix of cake...

hey y'all! it's been a while.. I KNOW!

I'm in the process of making my portfolio. I know it'd be great to hire a professional photographer, but for the meantime, i'll be doing my own photographs FOR NOW.. and i've decided to name my make up photos "PIX OF CAKE" eye candy photography. my husband thought of the eye candy part, he wants me to mention his contribution to the idea lol

on the other hand IT'S SUMMER guys!!!
which doesn't really matter for us who live in GUAM cuz it's pretty much summer all year long here, just wayyyy hotter during this time of year ugh!.. but on a lighter note everyone seems to be more available, due to no school. partayyyy! haha... but i'm more excited because my husband will be on vacation leave from work for a month.. :D we'll be BEACHing like there's no tomorrow... u know it! haha

anywho! i did a friend's hair and makeup for her senior prom. She wanted a smokey look for her eyes and a glamorous updo.

YEP, her eye makeup is very similar to my last post (cranberry&amberlights). tweaked it a bit...



products used:

MAKE UP:

please refer to my last post on primer and bases (and just added gold dusk pigment & melon pigment) all Mac unless otherwise mentioned

eyes:

Off the radar pigment (wash on mid section, little over the crease)
Gold dusk pigment (inner 1/3 & tearduct)
Melon pigment (center lid)
Amberlights e/s (outer 1/3)
Cranberry e/s (crease)
Sketch e/s (outer v)
Shroom highlight

face
NC 40 studio fix fluid
nw30 concealer
NC 30 select sheer/loose setting powder
melba blush & dollymix(focused on applesof the cheeks) blush
VANILLA pigment for highlight

Hair:

This was the first product i used after she towel dried her hair till it's slightly damped
SH-RD protein cream

sold only in professional salons. a bit pricey but it's SO AMAZING! it's basically for split ends/porous hair. Contains Silk Protein Complex which utilizes silk amino acids to repair split ends and leaves hair moisturized. Also blocks UV rays and environmental damages and protects hair from Chlorine damage from swimming pools. IT MAKES YOUR HAIR VERRRYYY SOFT, SHINY, and BOUNCY. although she really didn't need this product since her hair is already very healthy and silky, her ends are a bit porous from her past highlights..

second... to have the extra poof i applied a thickening mousse

Garnier Fructis XXL volume thickening mousse

then.. i sprayed CATWALK's Fashionista Spritz & Shine Heat all over her hair

....then BLOW DRY & CURL...

usually i don't use hair spray, but in order for her updo and curls to be in tact throughout the night, a few spray of VAVOOM's freezing spray will make sure her hair will remain tamed from the night long event.

i pacticularly love this hair spray for updos, because it's extra- firm (not stiff!) and fast drying. It locks and puts together the style WITHOUT making your hair hard as a rock.
