one of my favorite looks! colors are fun and exciting but i get lots of compliments with this look, mostly from my hubby :)
i love colors... don't get me wrong! but the only time i started rockin' bright colors is when i was introduced to mac, but before that i've acquired quite a few colorful eyeshadows from drugstore brands that that just ended up in trash.
From where i live good quality makeup is hard to find. it's either cheap (drugstore brands from kmart) or really expensive (DFS' tourist prices) nothing in between. Guam only has one mac counter (dfs). i used to shop there religously until they jacked up prices to about $10 more than the actual price back in the states about a year ago, ugh!! thanks to the website http://www.maccosmetics.com i'm strictly an online shopper for mac goodies nowadays. except when my husband and i visit his family in hawaii..

BUT this look can be achieved with whatever you have... it doesn't really require much pigmentation of the shadows, just a good primer/cream/base color, lightest-to-darkest color scheme, blending techniques and maybe about 10 minutes of your time...
so all you guam people, this one's for y'all!
EVERYDAY LOOK "WORK-TO-PLAY"

GUAM IS LOCATED CLOSE TO THE EQUATOR, YES.. IT'S ALWAYS FAIRLY HOT, HUMID, NEVER COLD. THE SUN CAN DO LOTS OF DAMAGE TO OUR SKIN.. SO PROTECT THEM LOVELY SKIN WITH SUNSCREEN or moisturizers with SPF!!!
let us begin................
STEP 1
MOISTURIZE
STEP 2
STEP 2
APPLY YOUR CHOICE OF FOUNDATION
I used my mineralized skinfinish (Medium Dark)
APPLY BASE FOR EYES
(scandalous shadow base)
any cream/shadow primer will work. this will help ur shadows to pop, not crease and last longer.
STEP 4
APPLY A COCOish/BRONZY COLOR ON CREASE WITH A FLUFFY BLENDING BRUSH
i used texture e/s (fave!!) with my mac #224
STEP 5
PACK IN LIGHTEST COLOR ON THE ENTIRE LID with a flat brush (mac#242)
this is my neutral pallette from www.coastalscents.com for about $20+shipping
(love love love!! a must-have!)
(love love love!! a must-have!)
STEP 6
SWEEP IN DARKEST COLOR (dark brown) ON CREASE FOR DEPTH WITH A MEDIUM BLENDING BRUSH
(mac #217)
(mac #217)
*don't forget to blend harsh lines but be careful not to blend all the colors together cuz it'll appear muddy*
STEP 7
APPLY A HIGHLIGHT COLOR ON THE BROWBONE
i used the same color for the lid
STEP 8
EYELINER
i used mac's BLACKTRACK gel liner with an angled brush (wing it if you like)
STEP 9
CURL UR LASHES AND APPLY MASCARA
covergirl lashblast in black
STEP 10
CONTOUR (optional) AND BLUSH
hollows of the cheeks : mac Emote blush with angled blush brush #168
highlight on the t-zone and top of cheekbones: mac msf "soft and gentle" brush #150
blush on the apples of the cheeks: mac "gingerly" brush#129
STEP 11
LIPLINER/LIPSTICK/GLOSS
lipliner: rimmel london "011 spice"
lipstick: mac "hugme"
gloss: mac vivaglam VI
but lately i've been just using a tinted lipconditioner and sheer gloss (mac pink fish & fastfriends.. i love those two together!)
NOTE:
MAC BRUSHES ARE A LITTLE PRICEY BUT THEY WORK WONDERS, TRUST!
.... good news tho! check out this site.....mac brushes dupes but cheaper
